Our theology curriculum offers in-depth knowledge of the essential topics in ministry. The emphasis is on applied theology, taught by verified scholars through an enjoyable and enriching experience with no filler work. Too many pastors today know very well what the scriptures say but have no idea what they mean. A grounding in theology prepares ministers to teach and to serve. Our curriculum is designed to benefit both students of ministry and those already at work. These programs appeal not only to ministers but to anyone who enjoys learning–especially in the comfort of home.

Clinical Psychology (with a Christian World View):
“The healing of souls is, and always has been, the task of the Church.” This is the assertion of President Heyward Ewart, Ph.D., Psy.D., D.D. Long before psychology became a profession, distressed people sought out the advice of their pastor as the first resource for help. Congregations have depended on their pastor for relief of psychic pain throughout history. In the modern era, most pastors, family doctors, and even psychiatrists refer their troubled individuals to a psychologist. That psychologist should be a Christian who holds to Christian values and sees the world in a Christ-like way. Our future psychologists have learned that the Holy Spirit is the only agent capable of understanding a wounded soul. They have also learned that “there is no normal way to react to craziness,” as Dr. Ewart is fond of saying.
There is a very critical need for professional Christian psychologists, and pastors, physicians, and many agencies are wishing for one right now. You can be that professional for whom they are praying. Our course content exceeds that of most institutions at a cost much lower than any. We try to make you much better prepared than the average secular psychologist.
St. James pledges to you very close personal interaction, to share a wealth of experience. President Ewart, our chief mentor in psychology, has been a Christian psychotherapist for over 33 years, but his favorite activity is interacting with students during their internship and before.
All graduates of the master’s portion are automatically certified by the American Board of Traumatology Examiners.
Christian Holistic Health:
This innovative curriculum offers the opportunity to study in the Philippines with a hands-on internship at our CHARM clinic (Center for Holistic and Restorative Medicine). The clinic offers in-patient and out-patient health care under the supervision of Rev. Anacleto Millendez, M.D. The tuition covers the preparatory coursework, plane fare, and lodging. Alternatively, internships can be arranged near the student’s home. Learn more about our
